WOODSTOCK, Ga. (AP) - State law officers are investigating after one person was killed in a shooting that involved a police officer in the north Georgia town of Woodstock. The officer was not injured.

Woodstock police spokeswoman Brittany Duncan said the shooting happened round 9:15 p.m. Friday in the parking lot of the Walmart on Georgia Highway 92 and Trickum Road.

Duncan tells The Atlanta Journal-Constitution (https://bit.ly/1jAByyE) that the person who was shot was taken to a local hospital, but did not survive.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is investigating the shooting.

Woodstock is about 30 miles north of Atlanta.
