COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - A man has been charged in connection with a shooting near an Ohio elementary school that injured two people and led to a precautionary lockdown.
No students or staff at Liberty Elementary School in Columbus were injured or involved in the shooting Thursday afternoon. But police say a 14-year-old boy was shot in the thigh and a 20-year-old man was shot in the foot.
Police said in a statement that 48-year-old Arthur Valentine Jr., of Columbus, was arrested Friday on two charges of felonious assault in the shooting. Court records do not list an attorney for Valentine.
The injured adult and teenager were treated at hospitals and released.
Authorities have said the shooting resulted from an argument over a cellphone.
