HATTIESBURG, Miss. (AP) - The city of Hattiesburg will open a health clinic for its 700-plus employees, as well as retirees.

Mayor Johnny DuPree told the Hattiesburg American (https://hatne.ws/1kIy14Z ) that the clinic will offer physicals, blood work and drug screenings, as well as treat high blood pressure, diabetes and stress.

Tuesday, the Hattiesburg City Council unanimously approved a two-year agreement with Medical Analysis LLC of Biloxi to open and operate a clinic. It will be staffed by a nurse practitioner and a phlebotomist.

The city will pay Medical Analysis $29,000 per month. Employees, retirees and dependents covered by the city’s insurance won’t be charged for office visits, lab visits or medication.

Uninsured employees and their dependents will pay $20 for office visits. They will be charged at cost for lab work and medications.
