TULSA, Okla. (AP) - The Tulsa Drillers won an offensive showcase by overcoming a seven-run Hooks lead to defeat Corpus Christi by a final score of 10-9.
The Drillers were down 8-1 at the end of the third inning Friday night, but a six-run fourth inning and a three-run sixth inning powered the Drillers to their third win of the year.
The seven-run deficit was the largest of any Drillers game thus far in the young 2014 season. The 10-9 victory was a much needed win for the Drillers, who snapped a three-game losing streak and reached double digit runs for the first time this season.
The Hooks got to Tulsa starter Jon Gray for six runs in the bottom of the first inning.
