GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (AP) - Forecasters say weekend rain could cause some flooding problems in Michigan’s Lower Peninsula in areas including along the Grand River.
The river rose above its banks in downtown Grand Rapids this week.
Rains could hit the state Saturday night through Monday. The Grand Rapids Press reports (https://bit.ly/1qo3Mzu ) that the Muskegon River basin could see higher rainfall amounts out of the storm system than the Grand River basin, leading to flooding problems there as well.
Since March, the Grand Rapids area and some other parts of the state have seen flooding. The Grand Rapids area was hit by major flooding last year.
