PORTLAND, Maine (AP) - Police say they have arrested a Maine man accused of robbing a CVS store for prescription drugs in the city of Portland with what initially appeared to be an explosive device.

Police say 39-year-old Jason Wayne Campbell of Portland demanded drugs at the CVS around 8:45 Friday morning while displaying what appeared to be an explosive device.

Part of Congress Street was closed for several hours as the Portland Police Department Hazardous Devices Unit examined the device they believe was left in a trash can.

Police say Campbell was identified by an employee of CVS who was familiar with him. He was arrested outside his home and was being held at the Cumberland County Jail. It was not immediately known if he was being represented by a lawyer.
