TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) - A man who shared an apartment with a Toledo woman has testified in court that he saw her throw her infant son to the floor, leading to the baby’s death.
The testimony of Frank Jones in a Lucas County courtroom on Thursday came in the aggravated murder trial of 26-year-old Amanda Bacon.
Prosecutors say she bashed the head of her 6-month-old son Avery on Dec. 16, 2012, fracturing his skull so severely that he died two days later at the University of Michigan hospital.
Bacon has pleaded not guilty. The (Toledo) Blade (https://bit.ly/1iCZ8J2 ) reports that defense attorneys are expected to argue that Jones, not Bacon, was the one who hurt the child.
Jones told the jury that he shared an apartment with Bacon in exchange for sex.
