CONCORD, N.H. (AP) - A national nonprofit group is expanding in New Hampshire to help develop friendships between people with and without disabilities.
Best Buddies opened a state office in January. Since then, the Concord office has helped launch new chapters in middle schools, high schools and colleges.
Gov. Maggie Hassan said there are more than 250 million people around the world with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
In New Hampshire, there are chapters in Londonderry High School; Dartmouth College; the University of New Hampshire; Phillips Exeter Academy; and Bow High School, among others.
Best Buddies has nearly 1,500 middle school, high school, and college chapters worldwide.
