RANKIN, Pa. (AP) - Police say a man was shot to death Thursday night outside of Pittsburgh.

Allegheny County Police Lt. Andrew Schurman says that the unidentified 46-year-old man was shot at about 8:45 p.m. Thursday in the Hawkins Village housing complex in Rankin. That’s about eight miles outside Pittsburgh.

Police believe several men went into an apartment in a robbery attempt, and the victim was shot in the chest.

No arrests have been made and the investigation is continuing.
