WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (AP) - A Miami man accused of killing his adoptive 10-year-old daughter wants his separate attempted murder trial moved out of Palm Beach County.

Jorge Barahona is scheduled to stand trial in May for the attempted murder of the girl’s twin brother in February 2011.

The Palm Beach Post (https://bit.ly/1oSDgRv ) reports Barahona’s attorneys asked Circuit Judge Sandra McSorely on Tuesday to move the case to Miami, where he already faces a potential death penalty if found guilty in the death of Nubia Barahona. The judge asked for more information from attorneys before making a ruling.

Nubia Barahona’s decomposing body was found in her father’s pesticide truck alongside Interstate 95 in Palm Beach County. Her brother was found just feet away, suffering severe chemical burns.

Barahona’s wife Carmen also faces murder charges.
