(AP) - In a story April 10 about two federal grants for rural development projects, The Associated Press, relying on information from the state’s congressional delegation, erroneously reported the name of one of the recipients. The grant was for the Greensboro Fire District No. 1, not the Greensboro Fire Department.

MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) - The Vermont Congressional delegation says two Vermont towns are receiving grants for rural development projects.
The grants, totaling over $257,000, come from the U.S. Department of Agriculture and were awarded to the towns of Greensboro and Brattleboro.
U.S. Sens. Patrick Leahy and Bernie Sanders and U.S. Rep. Peter Welch say in a joint statement that the federal investments will help to strengthen Vermont communities.
The Greensboro Fire District No. 1 will receive $251,000 to construct a new well, power source, pump and control building. Greensboro experienced strain on their existing system in 2012 which required community members to boil water.
Over $6,000 was awarded to the Brattleboro Area Farmers Market to help them purchase a permanent location for the market.
