CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - Charleston’s role in influencing the nation’s architecture and design is being explored during a three-day forum in Charleston.
The symposium is being sponsored by seven preservation groups, colleges and universities.
The event opened Thursday with a reception. On Friday, there will be talks planned with speakers from the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, the Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation and the South Carolina Historical Society as well as the universities of Virginia and North Carolina.
During the symposium there will also be tours of sites in Charleston including the Exchange Building, the Customs House and St. Michael’s Church.
