Hollywood’s Rob Lowe said in an interview Wednesday night that big government was hardly that answer — that really, individuals do it best.
“Equality for everyone is great,” Mr. Lowe said, during an appearance on “The O’Reilly Factor” on Fox News. “I just think that individuals usually do a better job than collective big government.”
Mr. O’Reilly suggested that perhaps Mr. Lowe was a libertarian, but Mr. Lowe quickly backtracked.
“I’m a Hollywood pinhead, Bill. I don’t know about political labels,” he said, The Blaze reported. “I spent all this time shedding the dogma of political labels and now you’re telling me I have to go back to living under a political label?”
Mr. Lowe also said big government is the best when it comes to “big-ticket items,” The Blaze reported.
The actor’s statements come just a few months after another Hollywood notable — Ashton Kutcher — rocked the media world with what many perceived as conservative talk, pushing the notion that hard work and traditional ethics are the precursors to success. Mr. Kutcher’s main view: Don’t be afraid to pick up a broomstick and sweep to earn money, he said, various media outlets reported.
