MARTIN, Tenn. (AP) - After leading UT Martin to a fourth straight NCAA women’s basketball tournament appearance, Kevin McMillan has signed a six-year contract extension to remain the Skyhawks’ coach.
UT Martin announced the extension Tuesday in a university release. McMillan’s contract now runs through the 2019-20 season.
The 46-year-old McMillan owns a 98-62 record in five seasons at UT Martin, which went 2-27 the year before his arrival. His teams have won two Ohio Valley Conference outright regular-season titles and four Ohio Valley Conference tournaments.
UT Martin went 24-8 this year and set a school record for victories in a season. UT Martin’s season ended with a 60-58 NCAA tournament loss to North Carolina in a game it led by as much as 18 points.
