Notes: The event, first played in 1972 as the Colgate Dinah Shore, became a major in 1983. … The top-ranked Park won six times last season. … Karrie Webb, the 2000 and 2006 champion, also has two victories this year, winning the Women’s Australian Open and JTBC Founders Cup in Phoenix. … Stacy Lewis, the 2011 winner, has five runner-up finishes since winning the Women’s British Open in August. … Morgan Pressel won in 2007 to become the youngest major champion in LPGA Tour history at 18 years, 10 months, 9 days. … The tour is off next week. Play will resume April 16-19 with the LPGA LOTTE Championship in Hawaii.

Notes: The Masters is next week at Augusta National. … Phil Mickelson, the 2011 player, hoped to play after withdrawing from the Texas Open in the third round because of a pulled muscle in his right side. … Rory McIlroy is in the field along with 2012 winner Hunter Mahan, Jimmy Walker, Jordan Spieth, Ian Poulter, Lee Westwood, Steve Stricker and Ernie Els. Walker leads the tour with three victories. Stricker is making his third start of the season.

Notes: Spain’s Alejandro Canizares is coming off a victory two weeks ago in Morocco in the Trophy Hassan II. … Fans are being allowed to attend the event for free.
