A football fan walking across an elevated pedestrian walkway at Candlestick Park in San Francisco fell to his death Sunday.
Others attending the 49ers-Packers’ game who witnessed the fall said the man appeared to be intoxicated, CBS reported.
His death was reported about 1:30 p.m., The Associated Press reported. Off-duty medics tried to administer aid at the scene, but he was declared dead shortly after an ambulance arrived. The man, whose name is not being released, was in his 30s, police said.
Stadium officials released a statement shortly after incident: “We would like to express our deepest condolences to the family during this difficult time,” AP reported.
The 49ers beat the Packers, 34-28.
