Police on Friday were still hunting the suspects who shot at a crowd of anti-violence rally attendees in North Carolina, injuring four.
The Charlotte Observer reported that the group Mothers of Murdered Offspring had sponsored a vigil Thursday evening aimed at drawing attention to a man killed during in a convenience store armed robbery.
A person attending the vigil called police, saying a person in the crowd pulled out a gun and began randomly firing, the Observer reported.
Police responding to the scene didn’t immediately find any injured individuals at the vigil. But they eventually learned that the victims had actually called for emergency assistance from different locations at the vigil after the crowd had spread and thinned a bit.
They have yet to make an arrest or identify any suspects. The victims’ conditions were not reported.
