Comedy Central’s “South Park” writers took on Hollywood’s Alec Baldwin in a recent episode, wondering why one of liberalism’s most vocal defenders can simultaneously spout anti-gay rhetoric, yet still receive the adoration of mainstream media and the left-wing.
For instance, in July, a petition drive circulated among civil rights activists for Capital One to fire Mr. Baldwin from his company spokesman advertising gig, after the actor tweeted about reporter George Stark: “I’m gonna find you George Stark, you toxic little queen, and I’m gonna [expletive] you … up.”
Mr. Baldwin still holds his lucrative Capital One deal — and South Park writers suggested that’s due to media hypocrisy.
In this week’s episode, Mr. Baldwin’s cartoon image is seen announcing his new MSNBC show: “Welcome to my new show on MSNBC, ’Free Pass with Alec Baldwin.’ “
In the show, Breitbart.com reported, Mr. Baldwin’s character was portrayed as a homophobe who couldn’t control his anti-gay rants. He finally decides that his thumbs are to blame — so he cuts them off. But then he finds he still can’t control his anti-gay thoughts, which are recorded and posted on a new social media site that reads minds and posts what people are thinking.
