Newark, N.J., Mayor Cory Booker, a Democratic Party candidate for senator, has been trading Twitter barbs with an East Coast stripper who posts half-nude photos online — and he’s completely unapologetic.
In one message, he tweeted: “The East Coast loves you and by the East Coast, I mean me.”
The dancer, Lynsie Lee, touts herself under her half-naked Twitter profile as a professional with “wits and [expletive],” The New York Post reported. In return for Mr. Booker’s compliments, she’s sent him plenty of screen shots — and tweeted out their exchanges to her own followers.
One exchange: She posted, “Ohh just got a postcard from @CoryBooker in the mail, this is going under my pillow for later,” next to a photograph of herself holding a signed campaign photo of the Senate hopeful. Mr. Booker, in return, posted, “Thanks for the generous tweet.”
She’s also expressed interest in becoming Mr. Booker’s eventual White House better half. Mr. Booker is not married, The Post said.
Her tweet on that point: “@Cory Booker if you’re ever POTUS I call dibs on First Lady.”
The Post reported that the pair have been exchanging tweets since February.
His campaign camp refuted the characterization of Mr. Booker’s tweets as actual flirtations.
Spokesman Kevin Griffis told The Post: “I think it’s pretty well known that the mayor talks with people from all walks of life on Twitter.”
