Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli’s Virginia gubernatorial campaign will see some star power on Wednesday, as former Republican presidential hopeful Mitt Romney is set to come out of the shadows and headline a private fundraising event for the candidate.
“Ken is grateful to have Governor Romney’s support,” said Richard Cullen, a spokesman for Mr. Cuccinelli’s campaign, as reported by The Washington Post. “He’s looking forward to sharing ideas with the governor on how to grow Virginia’s economy and implement his plan to create 58,000 jobs.”
The former Massachusetts governor is scheduled to speak at Fleming’s Steakhouse in McLean at lunchtime. Mr. Cuccinelli’s campaign did not disclose how much guests would have to pay to attend.
Mr. Cuccinelli faces a tight race for the governor’s mansion against Terry McAuliffe, a former Democratic National Committee chairman.
