Search-and-rescue teams found three of the U.S. Navy helicopter crew members who had crashed in the Red Sea late Sunday, safe and in stable condition.
Two others aboard were still missing, a Navy spokesman said, CNN reported.
The MH-60S Knighthawk had been operating with the USS William P. Lawrence, a guided-missile destroyer, when it crashed in an area of the Red Sea that is located between the Arabian Peninsula and Africa, on Sunday.
Investigators still don’t know the cause of the crash.
The Navy clarified, though, “it was not due to any sort of hostile activity.”
The names of the crew members have not yet been released.
