CNN’s Anderson Cooper interviewed Emily Miller about mental illness and gun violence in the wake of the tragic mass shooting at the Washington Navy Yard.

Ms. Miller said that, “Someone who slaughters 12 people and is hearing voices is a paranoid schizophrenic is the definition of crazy or insane. And you don’t need P.C. police stopping that. That’s real, and he should have been in a mental hospital.” The CNN transcript is here.  The video of the September 18 interview on “AC360 Later” is below.

Emily Miller is senior editor of opinion for The Washington Times and author of the book “Emily Gets Her Gun … But Obama Wants to Take Yours” (Regnery 2013)
