A new finding from a research firm that focuses on faith issues says that two-fifths of Americans believe we’re at the end times, living out Revelation biblical principles.
An estimated 41 percent of respondents in the Barna Group poll who were at least age 18 agreed that “the world is currently living in the ’end times’ as described by prophesies in the Bible.”
Broken down further, the survey showed that 54 percent of Protestants agreed with that statement — and 77 percent of evangelicals.
Catholics, however, thought otherwise. Fully 73 percent of this faith said the end times “are not upon us,” The Blaze reported. But that sentiment changed slightly, depending on how faithful the respondent was with his or her adherence to Catholic Church doctrine. The poll found that 45 percent of practicing Catholics — those who attend Mass regularly and abide most of the church’s teachings — said yes, the world was living out its end times.
The poll also measured differences in views by race. Thirty-nine percent of whites agreed the world was in its end times; 48 percent of Hispanics felt similarly; 54 percent of blacks believed it, too.
The poll was commissioned by WatchWORD Bible New Testament producer Jim Fitzgerald.
Christian News Wire said Barna Group conducted 1,000 online surveys to arrive at their results, which have a margin of error of 3.2 percentage points.
