The Michigan Judicial Tenure Commission voted on Monday to remove the Wayne County Circuit judge from his bench, citing his repeated pattern of lying under oath and his affair with a witness as cause.

Judge Wade McCree has already been suspended with pay, The Detroit Free Press reported. The commission said that if he somehow wins re-election in 2014, he should also be suspended for another six years.

The panel also said Mr. McCree should pay $11,945 for court costs.

The recommendation still has to receive the approval of the Michigan Supreme Court in order to take effect. That court is due to consider and issue a ruling on the case later this year, USA Todat reported.

Mr. McCree’s famous around his Michigan community for telling television reporter — who asked about his shirtless photograph that he sent a sheriff department worker — that “there’s no shame in my game.”
