A 57-year-old Iowa City man called police to report a theft of sorts — his friend failed to pay him for the illegal drugs he provided.

Daniel Noehl said he sold three bottles of his prescription medicine to a friend, but his friend refused then to pay. The deal was: 230 pills for $1.25 a pill, USA Today reported.

So when his friend reneged, Mr. Noehl called police — and then called them again and again because they didn’t respond quickly enough, the Press-Citizen reported.

When the cops did show up, Mr. Noehl also told them that he smoked crack cocaine and proceeded to show them his crack pipe.

He was arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and other prohibited acts, the Iowa City police blotter said.
