MIAMI (AP) - The jury mulling the fate of a Florida man accused of killing Washington Redskins star Sean Taylor is back for day two of its deliberations.

Jurors began considering the case of Eric Rivera Jr. Wednesday evening and deliberated a short time. The 12-person panel is coming back Thursday morning to continue.

The 23-year-old Rivera faces life in prison if convicted of Taylor’s slaying in November 2007. Testimony showed Taylor was fatally shot during a failed burglary at his Miami-area home by a group of young men from Fort Myers.

Rivera confessed to police but testified that his statement was coerced and that he didn’t kill Taylor. Prosecutors say Rivera’s confession is overwhelming evidence of guilt.

Taylor was a Pro Bowl safety and starred at the University of Miami.
