Kanye West sent a gentle slap-down first lady Michelle Obama’s way, commenting how his fiancee Kim Kardashian is so much better at drawing attention on social media.
“Michelle Obama cannot Instagram a pic like what my girl Instagrammed the other day,” he said during an interview with Ryan Seacrest, The Hill reported.
The rapper likely was referring to a picture Miss Kardashian recently posted that bares most of the lower back half of her body. That shot alone has been “liked” by about a million users.
Miss Kardashian — a frequent poster of risque shots of herself — has 11 million followers on the site. Mrs. Obama, by comparison, has about 430,000. The first lady joined the site in June, The Hill reported.
Mr. West’s comments came at the same time he ranted about the class culture that runs Hollywood.
“We have our cool table,” he said, as The Hill reported, “and there’s no way Kim Kardashian shouldn’t be on the cover of Vogue. She’s like the most intriguing woman right now. She’s got Barbara Walters calling her like everyday … and collectively, we’re the most influential with clothing.”
He then said: “No one is looking at what [President] Obama is wearing.”
Mrs. Obama, meanwhile, is likely no fan of Miss Kardashian’s: She said in 2011 that her husband “doesn’t like” their daughters watching the E! hit show “Keeping Up With the Kardashians.”
