The Northern California home where Apple Inc. co-founder Steve Jobs grew up is now on Los Altos’ list of historic properties.
The city’s historical commission voted unanimously for the historic designation Monday night, meaning any proposed renovations to the home now require additional review, the Palo Alto Daily News reported.
Steve Jobs, with help from his sister, Patricia Jobs, and Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak, built the first 100 Apple I computers at the home, the Associated Press reported. The home is currently owned by Patricia Jobs.
The commission did not need Miss Jobs’ permission for the designation, although she could appeal it to the City Council, the AP reported.
