ABC has apologized for a segment of “Jimmy Kimmel Live” in which four children joked about killing everyone in China so the United States won’t have to pay back its debt, the Associated Press reported.

Reminiscent of “Kids Say the Darndest Things,” Mr. Kimmel asked his panel of youngsters what the U.S. should do about its debt to China.

“Kill everyone in China,” one child suggested.

Another boy, ironically, suggested putting up a huge wall around China.

Mr. Kimmel asked the group if America should pay back its debt.

“YES!” the children shouted enthusiastically.

“Should we allow the Chinese to live?” the host then asked, receving a mixed reaction from the rambunctious tykes.

ABC’s apology came in response to a complaint from a group called 80-20, which identifies itself as a pan-Asian-American political organization.

ABC told the group in a letter that the skit will be edited out of the “Jimmy Kimmel Live” episode for future airings or any other distribution, including online.
