OPINION:
Rarely does an election offer as clear a choice as the current one for Virginia governor.
On one side is Terry McAuliffe, described by a key technology association’s members as “superficial” and “uninformed” and The Richmond Times-Dispatch as a “deeply unserious candidate.” With his company under investigation by two federal agencies, Mr. McAuliffe also pushes the most extreme agenda in Virginia history: overspending amounting to a tax increase of $1,700 for a family of four, overriding safety regulations on abortion clinics aimed at protecting women’s health, running roughshod over our Second Amendment liberties, overregulating Southwest Virginia’s coal industry out of existence with President Obama’s radical climate rules, overturning the state’s marriage amendment and undermining our right-to-work laws through project labor agreements.
On the other side is Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli who, according to The Washington Post last month, “grasps the details and gravity of the job.” Mr. Cuccinelli would corral spending, create 58,000 jobs and cut taxes for working families. He would seeks to empower parents and increase accountability in education. He fought Obamacare. He stands tall for life, marriage, gun rights and Virginia workers.
In the end, it isn’t really a choice at all. Ken Cuccinelli is the only answer for Virginia’s future.
