Washington police arrested an 11-year-old boy at school after they found him in possession of a gun, 400 rounds of ammunition and several knives — and parents weren’t even informed of the incident until administrators sent a letter home.

CNN said the boy, who’s unidentified, attends Frontier Middle School in Vancouver. On Wednesday, the school was locked down for about two hours while police responded to the finding of the weapons. Nobody was hurt, and the boy was taken into custody.

But parents weren’t advised of the incident until later that day, via a note, The Columbia reported.

Police aren’t sure yet about the extent of the boy’s intentions, or who his alleged targets were.
