Law enforcement agents are investigating a threat made on social media against Sen. Ted Cruz, appearing to rally a crowd to “take down” the Texas politico at his home, and then listing his home address.

“What goes around comes around CRUZ!!” a person who identified himself as Troy Gilmore Jr. wrote in a recent Twitter post, The Hill said.

He also wrote: “Take down Ted Cruz, at his home,” and then gave Mr. Cruz’s actual Houston home address. Apparently, the same source has posted Mr. Cruz’s home address several times over the past few weeks, alongside language that could be perceived as threatening, The Hill reported.

The person’s Twitter handle is @ArmyVet54 and claims veteran status with both the U.S. Army and U.S. Navy. And one more tweet from that source: Mr. Cruz “needs tobe [sic] taught a street wise lesson.”

A spokesman for Mr. Cruz said “we’re aware” of the postings “and have alerted the proper authorities,” The Hill reported.

In response, Capitol Police said through a spokesman that “we are looking into that matter.”
