Orlando, Fla., authorities have deactivated an electronics-packed suitcase they found outside SeaWorld that was believed to be a makeshift bomb.
The suspicious case was discovered early Wednesday by a security guard who worked at the theme park’s Discovery Cove entryway, Fox News reported.
Investigators found the case wrapped up in an electrical cord and filled with electronic items.
They shut down the nearby Central Florida Parkway and detonated the case with a water cannon. The roadway was reopened by 6 a.m., WESH.com reported. Nobody was injured in the incident.
Orange County Sheriff’s Office officials reported later Wednesday to the Orlando Sentinel that the suitcase actually belonged to a homeless man “found intoxicated behind a hotel” and that the electronics inside the bag that bomb experts detonated may have been music CDs.
