A man wielding a knife jumped aboard an elementary school bus carting 11 students in Arkansas early Thursday morning, hijacked it and steered it on a 10-mile chase from police.

Nobody was injured, and police were able to take the suspect into custody, CNN reported.

The incident started in a suburb near Little Rock and wrapped about 20 minutes later, when police pursued and halted the bus miles down the road, in Cabot, Jacksonville police Capt. Kenny Boyd said.

The children attend Pinewood Elementary School, CNN reported.

The suspect — who’s not yet been identified — allegedly tried to take over a woman’s car, but then noticed the stopped bus and jumped aboard, Capt. Boyd said. Police said the suspect was behind the wheel when they pulled it over about 10 miles from where the hijack allegedly occurred.

His motives aren’t yet known, police said.
