University of Maryland is featuring a “Sex Week,” aimed at teaching college students how to properly select sex toys in an eco-friendly manner.
A Washington, D.C., sex shop called “The Garden” has partnered with the university in the event to bring the shop’s mission into the foreground: The store has a “commitment to body safe and eco-friendly products,” the owners tout on the shop’s website.
The “Sex Week” itself is billed as a means of giving students the opportunity for sex-related “education, communication, exploration” at the College Park campus, Newsbusters reported. Event organizers say they’ll pass along via panel discussions several tips on identifying high quality — and safe — sex toys, as well as how to select “fetish gear.”
Also scheduled is a presentation from Jessica VonDyke, billed as a “poly, queer femme whose mission in life is to help folks have better sex and is an advocate for gender inclusiveness, sexy safer sex and queer positive spaces in everything that she does,” Newsbusters reported.
The event is scheduled for the week of Oct. 15.
