A reporter for a college news website captured students at the normally liberal University of Colorado giving their take on the source of the government shutdown — and surprisingly, more fingers pointed at the president than the GOP.

Even the Campus Reform reporter taking the video, posted on YouTube, was shocked at his findings, remarking at one point on the tape, “wow.” The fact they blamed President Obama and the Democratic Party, not the Republicans, runs counter to what recent polls have reported.

A sampling of the students’ responses:

“[Obama’s] just being really stubborn, not willing to negotiate at all, not taking any ideas from anyone else, it’s either his way or the highway and apparently we got to shut down the government because of that,” one student said, in the video.

And another: “I have to go with the Democrats on this one.”

And yet one more: “Obamacare is stupid. You shouldn’t be required to have health care.”
