MONTREAL (AP) - Canadiens enforcer George Parros has left the ice on a stretcher after being pulled down face first during a fight in his first game with Montreal.
Parros was in his second fight of Tuesday night’s season-opening game when he was injured in a bout with Toronto Maple Leafs heavyweight Colton Orr.
Orr had fallen to the ice and reached up and pulled down Parros. Parros’ face hit the ice heavily, and he was bleeding and looked woozy as a team of trainers from both teams spent several minutes treating him. Fans chanted his name during the on-ice delay.
The Canadiens said Parros sustained a concussion, but was alert and conscious and undergoing more tests at a hospital.
