Hoping to boost Obamacare’s popularity despite its flawed rollout, President Obama’s top health official will visit Atlanta on Friday to promote the health care law’s benefits and meet with people who are educating Georgians about the reforms.
Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius will visit the Southside Medical Center as she attempts to get beyond a pair of bruising appearances on Capitol Hill, where she explained to a skeptical Congress her agency’s attempts to fix the law’s broken website.
Mrs. Sebelius also is expected to “discuss an important announcement related to the Affordable Care Act,” although her agency did not elaborate Thursday.
HealthCare.gov was supposed to connect residents of 36 states with coverage on the individual market, but a series of glitches have caused it to crash.
Mr. Obama traveled to Texas on Wednesday to promote the law and urge state officials to expand Medicaid enrollment to people making up to 138 percent of the federal poverty level.
Mrs. Sebelius, too, has jet-set around the country, including a recent stop in Phoenix to meet with people who are offering in-person assistance to those seeking coverage.
