Al Gore, the former vice president and famous climate-change believer, said in a speech this week that he’s sure glad for Edward Snowden and the fugitive’s National Security Agency leaks.
Without them, America wouldn’t know of all the “revealed evidence of what appears to be crimes against the U.S. Constitution,” Mr. Gore said in a speech at Montreal’s McGill University, Breitbart reported.
He also called all the recent reports of NSA surveillance operations — on Germany, Spain and Brazil and in America — both “outrageous” and “completely unacceptable.” Previously, Breitbart reported, Mr. Gore had likened the NSA and its surveillance missions as anti-American, as not “really the American way.”
The statements are blunt, considering Mr. Gore’s former affiliation with the National Security Council and his receipt of daily briefings on intelligence operations from the Central Intelligence Agency.
