The Vatican Embassy in Damascus, Syria, was hit by a mortar shell Tuesday, witnesses said.
Nobody was injured or killed, The Associated Press reported.
The building is located in the upper-class district of Abu Roummaneh, but it’s not clear if it was targeted or hit by accident, officials said in the AP report.
The roof was damaged in the attack. So far, nobody’s claimed responsibility.
But rebel fighters have been regularly firing mortars into the Syrian capital; at the same time, the government has been trying to claim that the conflict has calmed and life is returning to normal.
