A German police officer has been accused of slaying a stranger who requested in an Internet chat room that he wanted to be killed and eaten.
A 55-year-old cop from Dresden told authorities that he stabbed his victim on Nov. 4 before chopping up the body, The Associated Press reported. The 59-year-old victim, whose name has been withheld, traveled roughly 250 miles by bus to meet the suspect.
When the man was reported missing on Nov. 11, and authorities began their search, citizens informed them that the victim had “fantasized since his youth about being killed and eaten by another person,” city police Chief Dieter Kroll said, in the AP report.
The Dresden case “will show how easily people can come together with the most gruesome fantasies on the Internet and exchange their perversions in increasingly crass manner,” Chief Kroll said, AP reported. “In 99 percent of cases, they get their kick out of the exchange.”
An investigator on the case told AP that the men had also contacted each other through text messages, standard mail and telephone calls.
