Just in time for the holidays: Former Vice President Al Gore has sworn off meat, eggs and dairy and gone vegan, said one person familiar with the decision.

United Press International reported that Mr. Gore won’t eat anything that comes from animals. The diet news surfaced in the midst of a Forbes article about Hampton Creek Foods, a line of vegan products that draws such heavy-hitting investors as Bill Gates from Microsoft, UPI said.

“Newly turned vegan Al Gore is also circling,” the Forbes article mentioned.

A source said Mr. Gore changed his diet a couple months ago. It’s not known why he went vegan, but his ex-boss, former President Bill Clinton, also follows the strict dietary routine, UPI said.
