Minnesota Vikings cornerback A.J. Jefferson was arrested Monday morning for felony domestic violence after he allegedly choked his girlfriend.

He was immediately released from the team, TMZ reported.

The 25-year-old was arrested at his home in Eden Prairie, Minn., after his girlfriend told authorities that he choked her during an argument, police told TMZ. He is currently being held without bail.

Mr. Jefferson appeared in 10 of the Vikings 11 games this season, but played sparingly, CBS Sports reported.

The Vikings played the Green Bay Packers on Sunday, tying 26-26.
