Add to the list of the millions of Americans who are expected to receive a massive price increase from Obamacare: House Speaker John A. Boehner.
The Ohio Republican said he’s just learned from HealthCare.gov that his deductible will triple — and his new premium will be nearly twice the current price, Fox News reported.
“So here’s the bottom line,” said a spokesman for Mr. Boehner on Fox News. “Before Obamacare, through the program for all federal employees, the Boehners’ monthly premiums totaled $433 with a $700 deductible.”
But under the new health care plan, costs soar.
“Now, the Boehners will pay around $800 per month, with deductibles somewhere near $2,000,” the spokesman said. “Of course, the speaker and Mrs. Boehner are fortunate enough to be able to afford these higher costs. They’re not asking anyone to feel sorry for them. We stress that.”
The speaker’s office gave out the information only in response to an inquiry from Fox News, “for the sake of transparency,” the spokesman said.
