Divorce is never pretty, but perhaps it stings a little less for media mogul Rupert Murdoch’s soon-to-be ex-wife, Wendi Deng, who will keep the couple’s $44 million penthouse overlooking Central Park in New York.

“We are pleased to announce that we have reached an amicable settlement of all matters relating to our divorce,” the couple said in a statement. “We move forward with mutual respect and a shared interest in the health and happiness of our two daughters.”

After all the formalities of the divorce settlement were complete, 82-year-old Mr. Murdoch, a billionaire who owns News Corp., shook hands with his wife at the New York State Supreme Court in Manhattan, The Wall Street Journal reported Tuesday. The two reportedly had a prenuptial and two postnuptial agreements in place but still needed to sort out housing issues and custody arrangements for their two children.

Mr. Murdoch has 60 days to file the paperwork to “rubber stamp” his divorce, according to WSJ. If that not does not happen, both parties will reconvene Jan. 23.
