OPINION:
The American people have a herd mentality. They have been panicked by the mainstream news media, and like so many lemmings, they think the “in” thing to do is to jump on the Obamacare website and sign up. The prudent thing to do would have been for no one to sign up at all.
The program originally was designed for those who did not have health care. Had these same people been responsible, they would have already had some sort of health plan. They are not and never will be held responsible for their health or anything else. The rest of America is being punished for these irresponsible people.
I still have my health insurance, as many others still have theirs. Social Security was passed as a tax, and so was Obamacare. I was self-employed for more than 50 years, and during that time I paid double the rate. So, in essence, I paid for someone else for more than 50 years, but now only receive Social Security for one person.
Social Security should have been voluntary, and so should Obamacare. No one has raised the question of why Congress has had a better health plan than the citizens of this country for more than a century. Why is the “ruling class” better than us? It’s time “we the people” grew a backbone and stood up to this government tyranny.
