A gunman entered the offices of a Paris newspaper, known for its left-wing bent, and opened fire, hitting and seriously injuring a photographer’s assistant.
The name of the assistant, 27, was not released. But the newspaper, a left-wing outlet called Liberation, reported his condition is serious, BBC said.
The BBC reported that the man was armed with a hunting rifle and fired off two shots, hitting the photographer’s assistant and fleeing.
The gunman didn’t say anything during the attack, BBC said.
This is the second strike against a news organization in Paris in recent days. On Friday, a man carrying what witnesses said was a gun broke into the offices of the news broadcast outlet BFMTV, but did not fire any shots. Nobody was injured in that incident, and the man left, BBC said.
Police aren’t clear if the two incidents are related.
