Count a former Secret Service agent among the millions of Americans who say they’ve been booted from their insurance plans due to Obamacare mandates.

Dan Bongino, who is now running for Congress as a Republican but who served 12 years as a Secret Service agent in the Clinton administration and for President Obama, until 2010, said he just received a letter in the mail notifying him about his looming canceled coverage, The New York Post reported.

The letter stated: “Your current benefit plan does not conform to these new [Obamacare] mandates.”

Mr. Bongino said he had asked to keep his federal insurance policy through CareFirst BlueCross Blue Shield when he left his Secret Service position. He initially paid for continuing coverage on a temporary basis, and then it was converted over to an individual market policy, he said, in The Post.

But now the father of two said he’s at a loss.

“If the plan I had was substandard, then why is the government providing the exact same insurance plan to the Secret Service, the people who put their lives on the line every day to protect them? I took the same plan offered to federal workers and paid for it out of my pocket,” he said in The Post report.

He also expressed outrage about the president’s broken promises.

“President Obama can’t be telling the truth about Obamacare,” he said, in the newspaper. “Getting that letter was like a punch to the face. I only put my life on the line every day to protect the president. This is a betrayal. I will be forced to purchase a new plan for my family … for a premium approximately $200 a month more expensive, for services we don’t want.”

Mr. Bongino posted his complaint to Facebook. He told The Post in an earlier interview that he believed the current White House administration was “using government as a weapon exclusively to intimidate enemies.”
