HOMESTEAD, FLA. (AP) - Richard Childress Racing is having a little fun as a huge underdog in the Chase for the Sprint Cup championship.

Less than a week after RCR crew chief Gil Martin suggested the team lock point leader Jimmie Johnson in a Port-A-Potty before the season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway, the team made a short parody video showing it happening.

“If you want to make some really good press next week, lock Jimmie in a Port-A-Potty so this can really look good,” Martin said at Phoenix. “It’d be a Cinderella story. It’d be a great thing to write about.”

Kevin Harvick’s response: “All right. Who’s in charge?”

Well, someone at RCR took over _ armed with a video camera and some creative editing.

The video posted on YouTube shows the exchange between Martin and Harvick and then pans to footage of Johnson walking through the garage area. The next shot shows an RCR crewman securing a lock on a portable bathroom, supposedly with Johnson inside, and slapping a “29” sticker on the outside of the outhouse.

The 40-second video ends with rapper Chamillionaire’s “Ridin (Dirty)” playing as the crewman walks away.

Harvick is third in the Sprint Cup standings, 34 points behind Johnson. The finale is Harvick’s last race with RCR before moving to Stewart-Haas Racing.

Johnson just needs to finish 23rd or better to win his sixth NASCAR title in eight years.
