When Hollywood actress Melissa Joan Hart revealed her support for Mitt Romney for president in November 2012, she went from beloved starlet to pariah, in a single night, she said this week.
On HuffPost Live this week, she recounted how she was suddenly called “every name in the book,” she said.
People wrote “that they hope I die, and that they hope my children are gay, which was like somehow supposed to be some sort of punishment,” she said, The Blaze reported. “[The] hate was really unbelievable that I got just from saying that simple tweet — just by saying I was voting.”
The hate was “unbelievable,” she said. “I all of a sudden was the devil. It was just amazing.”
Miss Hart said in an interview with Sean Hannity a few months ago that holding conservative beliefs while living in Hollywood is “a little scary” because of the “black list” atmosphere that results.
“I live in a country where I’m supposed to be able to have this freedom to choose who ever I want to vote for, whatever religion I want and I feel like there are these limitations. It’s not like it used to be,” Miss Hart told Hannity, The Blaze reported.
